New Delhi (India), 1974

 

After finishing school, he went on to get a degree in Fine Arts from The Delhi College of Art. After graduating in 1999, Arun started assisting Rajesh Bedi, a renouned wild life photographer, and worked with him for a year and a half. In 1998 he got an opportunity to go to Ladakh where he extensively prhotographed the region. Ladakh became a personal ongoing project which also enabled him to develop a very passionate interest in editorial Photography.

Arun dabbled in advertising photography but soon lost interest, and decided to continue exploring avenues of editorial photography. One of his major assignments was photographing The Kargil War in 1999. His other projects comprise of The Maha Khumbh Mela in Allahabad and Pushkar Mela in Ajmer, Rajasthan and Ayodhya in Utar Pradesh.

Based in London (UK) since 2005. Arun aims to use photography as a means to generate awareness on socio-economic and socio-political issues. Interested in showing the humanity of people in the face of hardship.
