Lluís Grifé studied photography at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC) and has the title of filmmaker from the INCANOP; he studied screenwriting with Jordi Balló, Xavier Pérez, Núria Bou, Domènech Font and Mercè Company at Aula de LLetres. He did animation courses with Rodolfo Pastor, and with Milan Svatos and Alfons Mensdorff (Jiri Trnka studios, Praga). He graduated in Communication Sciences from the University Ramon Llull. He is currently pursuing a Master of Fiction and preparing his doctorate at the University Ramon Llull.

As a freelance photographer, he was in Bosnia during the Balkan conflict (1994-1995) as a cameraman covering the onset of de-mining result of the Dayton agreements, in collaboration with the Associació de Fotoperiodistes Kevlar. He also worked for some years in the local media in Sant Cugat, particularly in the newspaper Gran Sant Cugat (editor and photographer) and in the local television in Sant Cugat, doing camera work, fitter and continuity. He has performed as a screenwriter and director of photography in more than 20 short films, some of them in film format (35 and 16 mm) with independent directors, students of ESCAC and of the University Ramon Llull.

Currently he teaches Laboratory of Image at the School Oscus of Barcelona since 2002 and also teaches Postproduction and Montage, Edition for journalists and Specialized Photography at the International University of Catalonia since 2006. Nowadays he combines his teaching task with the help of three projects: a theatrical one, as a light designer and producer, a documentary one, as a director of photography and a document serial one, as a director of photography and filmmaker.

He was the responsible for the photographic expeditions in Bosnia carried to term by the Associació de Fotoperiodistes Kevlar, from 2007 to 2009.
He was the creator, along with Roger Casajuana, of the Practicum project in 2007 performed by the Associació de Fotoperiodistes Kevlar. In this regard, and currently working with Rojak Photoreporter, he created “Memories of Srebrenica”, a project of recovery of memory surrounding the Srebrenica massacre, 15 years ago.

He made the following exhibitions:
1997: Desminatge: l’assignatura pendent. An exposition about the manual de-mining in Bosnia-Hercegovinia
2008: Serbis: un poble marcat. A collective exposition with another photographers about the life of Serbis in Kravica village (village near to Srebrenica)
2009: La UAB al Sahara
